Recordings of spiritual and devotional songs and dances, made at shrines and temples in the state of Manipur, northeastern India. The performers include priestesses (Maibees) and devotees of the Meitei people.
Featured instruments include the pena (ancient one-stringed bowed instrument), sharik (hand-bell), dholok drum, kartal cymbals, and Meitei poong drums.
