Cryoshell is a Danish three/four -piece alternative rock music group best known for their work for Lego Bionicle advertisements.The band consists of Christine Lorentzen a.k.a. Lore (vocals), Kasper Søderlund a.k.a. Asp (guitar) and Mikkel Maltha a.k.a. Kal (bass/keyboard).All three members were employees of Advance, the creative agency hired by Lego Group, at the time the Cryoshell was formed in 2007.Birthed by the Lego their original purpose was to do music to help promote their Bionicle toyline.Since then the band has produced five singles.Cryoshell recorded their first song *Creeping in my Soul to help advertise Barraki theme on Winter 2007.The Band released songs for the Spring 2007 and Fall 2008-2009 Bionicle line; *Face Me for Mahri on Summer 2007, *Gravity Hurts for Phantoka on Winter 2008, *Closer to the Truth for Mistika on Summer 2008 and *Bye Bye Babylon for Glatorian Legends on Summer 2009.On *Face Me and *Gravity Hurts featured vocals by Niels Brinck. These two songs are not included in first album - even though it’s believed that both songs will be remixed and released in a future. However for *Bye Bye Babylon there is also Marcus Busborg (drums) listed as fourth member.With the end of the Bionicle toyline the band decided to go independent and after working on it for long time, released its first CD album in Denmark on June 7th 2010.Ten track Cryoshell CD features remakes of two previously popular songs *Creeping in my Soul and *Closer to the Truth, extended version of their latest hit single *Bye Bye Babylon and several new, original songs like *Falling, *Murky and *No more Words (Winter 2010). Rest are named *Trigger, *Feed, *The Room and *Come to my Heaven.Little story behind the band name: "Legend, derived from anthropological records, has it that all living things contain a spur from a cryoshell; akin to a sixth sense that can be nurtured and utilized for communication. It is said that these spurs could also contain something similar to what can be best described as an alter ego.Scientists who have come into contact with cryoshells have reported its extreme shape shifting capabilities, though no further explanation is available at this stage.In essence, a cryoshell is believed to be a super organism that has somehow survived since ancient times. It appears to exist in a delicate equilibrium, able to live undisturbed for many years but quick to respond if its environment is disturbed.Though the evidence is sketchy, exposing a cryoshell to imbalance precipitates a slow but steady warning. If ignored, the cryoshell exhibits more urgent and insistent behavior, leading to a fiery, powerful output of energy."
